Deconstruction

Yesterday I started some work on reclaiming some sourced textiles.

The process is not as quick and simple as I had thought! I feel really let down by Weezer as '(Undone) The Sweater Song' is not entirely accurate to real life, you can not just pull a thread and walk away. Frustrating.

I documented the process below and ended up with a very satisfying ball of wool and also some threads that I'm hanging on to - to hopefully repurpose.

I also learned you want to go from the top of the garment, pro reclaiming tip there, after a few tries of trying to unravel the garment!

I'm hoping to repurpose this thread into crocheted granny squares to create a vest, cardigan, or tank top.
